Fireplace Heat Exchanger
Course: MAE 377 Product Design in a CAD Environment
Semester: Fall 2014 Group Size: Independent Objective This project was developed in my Junior product design course. The goal of the project was to create a unique product consisting of at least 15 parts. The idea for the fireplace heat exchanger originated from my father, who wanted a way to get more heat from our living room fireplace. With this in mind I decided to design a grate that acts as a heat exchanger, while preserving the aesthetic integrity of our fireplace. Learning Outcome This course was my first real experience with 3D modeling software. I was immediately drawn to 3D modeling, and the endless realm of possibilities it offers. The main takeaway from this course was my newly acquired 3D modeling skills. I quickly became eager to further develop these skills. |
